Parent & Caregiver Training
Parents and caregivers play an important role in a child’s ABA therapy and continued progress. That’s why Ascend with ABA includes Parent & Caregiver Training as a key part of our individualized approach. We believe children have more opportunities to build meaningful skills when families feel confident, informed, and supported.
Our Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) provide individualized coaching to help parents and caregivers better understand their child’s behavior, support treatment goals, and use practical ABA strategies during everyday routines. Parent & Caregiver Training may take place in your home, at our center, or virtually based on your family’s needs and available services.
During training, families can learn practical strategies for:
- Managing challenging behaviors calmly and consistently
- Encouraging communication and social interaction
- Building consistent routines and expectations
- Using positive reinforcement to support new skills
- Supporting transitions between everyday activities
- Encouraging daily living skills and greater independence
Every Parent & Caregiver Training session is tailored to your child’s individualized ABA treatment goals and your family’s needs. Our BCBAs explain strategies, answer questions, and help parents and caregivers feel more confident using what they learn during everyday situations.
Parent & Caregiver Training is about more than learning ABA techniques. It helps families understand how they can support their child’s communication, behavior, learning, and independence beyond scheduled therapy sessions. By working together, our clinical team and families can create greater consistency and more opportunities for children to practice meaningful skills at home and in the community.
Ascend with ABA provides Parent & Caregiver Training throughout Hampton Roads, supporting families in Virginia Beach, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Portsmouth, and surrounding communities.
Get started with Parent & Caregiver Training today and discover how everyday routines can become meaningful opportunities for your child to learn, grow, and build greater independence.
